PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Schools, universities and educational institutions are highly noisy public environments, characterised by large and crowded spaces where proper acoustic design is essential to ensure the full usability of areas dedicated to lessons, conferences and events.
For a newly built school complex in Qatar, MAPPY ITALIA was commissioned to intervene in the impressive auditorium with the aim of correcting reverberation and improving acoustic comfort. The proposed solution involved the creation of fully customised ceiling sound-absorbing panels, specifically designed to integrate perfectly with the architecture of the space.
Starting from the designer’s idea of creating large coloured elements inspired by the shape of a flag, MAPPY ITALIA followed the project through every phase: from prototype development and technical definition to final production and installation. With dimensions exceeding two metres, the panels become an integral part of the interior design and of the space’s visual identity, combining strong aesthetic impact with high sound-absorbing performance.
In addition, for the walls of the auditorium, the Mappywood acoustic wooden panels – Linear Perforated and Grooved – were selected.
