Police College, a national training institute dedicated to preparing future generations of law enforcement professionals in Qatar. The institute offers comprehensive programs in policing, leadership, public safety and security management, supported by modern classrooms, advanced training facilities and realistic simulation environments.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
At the heart of the campus, the auditorium represents a key space for lectures, ceremonies and strategic briefings. The architect’s vision was to create an environment capable of reflecting the prestige of the institution while ensuring an outstanding acoustic system, comfort and architectural refinement.
To meet these requirements, Mappy Italia introduced its acoustic system of micro-perforated wooden wall panels – Mappywood Micro-Perforated – backed with Silsonic, a sound-absorbing panel made of regenerated and recycled fiber that enhances acoustic performance.
The positioning and type of panels were carefully calculated by Mappy Italia’s technical team to ensure optimal sound absorption, providing high speech intelligibility throughout the space.
Wood sourced from sustainable supplies, environmentally conscious production processes and low-emission finishes contribute to improving indoor air quality and ensuring long-term environmental responsibility, reinforcing Mappy Italia’s commitment to well-being and sustainability even in institutional and educational environments.
THE RESULT: a distinctive auditorium where architectural prestige meets acoustic comfort. The College now benefits from a comfortable learning environment that supports concentration, discipline and excellence, reflecting the institute’s mission to train Qatar’s future law enforcement professionals to the highest standards.
