Acoustic Rehabilitation of a Sports Centre
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A modern gym in Belgium faced significant acoustic problems that compromised workouts, matches and other events. The large interior space generated excessive reverberation, making the environment particularly noisy. The space needed an acoustic solution capable of maintaining contemporary aesthetics while reducing internal echo.
Mappy Italia proposed Mappycubic, an acoustic element shaped like a cube developed specifically for large spaces requiring optimal reverberation management. The six sound-absorbing faces of the panel guarantee superior acoustic performance, creating a visually playful and distinctive acoustic panel that dialogues perfectly with the broad architectures of gyms.
THE RESULT: a sports hall with a renewed look, characterized by contemporary style and significantly improved acoustic comfort. The Mappycubic sound-absorbing panels, suspended from the ceiling, introduced an unexpected scenic element. Today the facility can host matches, tournaments, fitness classes and other events in an acoustically comfortable setting, offering a more pleasant experience for both athletes and audiences.
