Silsonic is an eco-friendly sound-absorbing and thermo-insulating panel made of 100% thermally bonded regenerated fibres, certified according to VDI 6022 to meet the most stringent hygiene requirements in the HVAC sector. The fibres are safe, pose no health risks, and are sustainable as they are obtained from recycled plastic bottles.

Silsonic has been tested and complies with the most stringent European and American standards regarding volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. It has also demonstrated zero fibre erosion (ASTM C1071-16), meaning the fibres are not dispersed into the air.

Thanks to the thermal bonding of the fibres and the specifically engineered standard density, it provides excellent sound attenuation at medium and high frequencies.

Silsonic is resistant to moisture.

Depending on density and thickness, the fire reaction class can vary from Bs1d0 to Bs2d0.

Silsonic is CE marked.

Typical applications

Silsonic is the ideal product for thermal and acoustic insulation of walls and false ceilings. It is flexible and can be easily installed inside partition walls, double walls, and fixed within false ceilings. As a self-supporting panel, installation is simple and fast, and no masks or gloves are required.

Silsonic has also been declared compliant for use in HVAC systems according to the VDI 6022 standard, which ensures compliance with the most stringent hygiene requirements in the sector. The product is therefore suitable for use as an acoustic insulator inside air ducts, as it has low fibre release and the fibres are not harmful to health. Continue reading...
